sealants can expand a thread size to an oversized dimension. This will cut the aluminum threads resulting in leakage.
To maximize thermal transfer between the dissimilar fluids, the cooler (heat exchanger) has multiple parallel aluminum fins
within the inner and outer housing. The fin design increases the contact surface allowing efficient temperature exchange.
Another benefit of this heat exchange is to bring the transmission fluid up to a safe operating temperature in colder climates

The Saginaw steering conversions for these vehicles is a proven advantage simply because they allow you to have better control
of your vehicle both on and off the highway. The problem with stock steering on these vehicles is excessive play or backlash. In
addition to offering a sound positive means of controlling your vehicle, it can be performed at a reasonable cost. Additional advantages
include exhaust clearance, engine positioning, and custom steering columns. These kits fit Jeep vehicles only.
Before you consider this conversion we recommend that you thoroughly read and understand the complete installation procedure.
Do not take shortcuts on steering installations. We recommend that these conversions be installed by a qualified technician.

Please read all instructions before installation
WARNING: The ATS Billet Flexplate will not mate to a DTT torque
converter.
1. If the transmission is not removed follow the directions given in the
Transmission Procedure manual.

2. Remove the eight bolts securing the factory flex plate to the crankshaft
using an 18mm socket. Retain the factory spacer.
3. Install the ATS Billet Flex Plate using the 8-factory bolts and the factory
spacer. The spacer should be installed on the outside (same as original)
of the flex plate, Figure 1. Torque the crankshaft bolts to 105 ft-lbs. Try
to locate the oval shaped hole on the outer bolt circle over the access
plate in the engine block, so that the first torque converter bolt can be
installed in this location. This will make installation easier in the following
steps.

Do not install the kits listed below on 2003 model year Dodge trucks built up to June 27th 2005 with
automatic transmissions without a transmission controller. Pacbrake has kits for these vehicles that
include an automatic transmission controller.

Pacbrake kit information and applications covered in this manual:
C44031 Pacbrake kit is a PRXB design for 2003 model year and newer Dodge trucks built up to January
4th 2004 with a Cummins 5.9L and manual shift transmission only.
C44037 Pacbrake kit is a PRXB design for Dodge trucks built after January 5th, 2004 and newer with
Cummins 5.9L diesel engines and a manual shift transmission. This kit also fits on Dodge trucks built after
June 27th, 2005 with Cummins 5.9L 610 ft-lbs of torque and automatic transmissions, transmission

Please read all instructions before the installation of the ATS Co-Pilot Module
Thank you for purchasing the ATS Co-Pilot Module Torque converter/exhaust brake controller.
This manual is to assist you with your installation and operation of the unit. If you are installing
the unit for a customer, please pass this manual on to your customer for future reference.
Understanding the ATS Five Star Co-Pilot
The ATS Co-Pilot module commands the lock-up clutch of the torque converter along with the
exhaust brake, if equipped, to stay engaged. This allows for up to 100% of the retarding force to
be transferred in 3rd and 4th gear and the transmission oil temperature to remain low because of
little to no slippage occurring when the converter is in these selected gears. When the ATS
Valve Body is installed, you can use engine braking in the low-speed position of nearly 12 mph
in 1st or 2nd gear. Currently, exhaust brake usage can cause high temperatures in the automatic
transmission due to torque converter slippage. And only a small portion of the retarding force is
transferred through the fluid coupling of most torque converters. The Co-Pilot has been
developed to provide lock-up capability in all gears. NOTE: On Dodge transmissions the ATS
Valve Body must be installed to utilize 1st and 2nd gear lock-up capability. The factory computer
is programmed to disengage lock-up under many conditions, which inhibits the performance of
the transmission. A few of these conditions are:
Lock-up disengagement at full throttle
Lock-up disengagement at closed throttle
Delayed lock-up engagement when accelerating from a stop
Delayed lock-up engagement before desired engine temperatures are reached
Lock-up disengagement under high power output

Thank you for purchasing the ATS Co-Pilot Module Torque converter/exhaust brake controller.
This manual is to assist you with your installation and operation of the unit. If you are installing
the unit for a customer, please pass this manual on to your customer for future reference.
Understanding the ATS Five Star Co-Pilot

DODGE S-2000 SPHERICAL ROLLER BEARINGS
GENERAL INFORMATION
DODGE S-2000 Spherical Roller Bearing mounted units incor-
porate a unique way of sealing the internal components of the
bearing while still allowing a full + or - 1 degree of misalignment.
The patented sealing system (Pat. #5,908,249) has proven
effective, due to its constant contact pressure, in protecting the
internal bearing components under maximum allowable misaligned
conditions.

NON-EXPANSION BEARING
WARNING
TO ENSURE THAT DRIVE IS NOT UNEXPECTEDLY
STARTED, TURN OFF AND LOCK OUT OR TAG POWER
SOURCE BEFORE PROCEEDING. FAILURE TO
OBSERVE THESE PRECAUTIONS MAY RESULT IN
BODILY INJURY.
1. Clean shaft and bore of bearing. The shaft should be
straight, free of burrs and nicks, and correct size (see
shaft tolerance table). If used shafting is utilized, then
the bearing should be mounted on unworn section of
shafting.
2. Lubricate shaft and bearing bore with grease or oil to
facilitate assembly. Slip bearing into position. When light
press fit is required, press against the end of the inner
ring of bearing. Do not strike or exert pressure on the
housing or seals.
3. Bolt bearing to support, using shims where necessary to
align bearing so inner ring does not rub on seal carrier.
Use full shims which extend across the entire housing
base.
4. Determine final shaft postion and tighten setscrews in the
locking collar(s) of non-expansion bearing to recom-
mended torque while the other bearings remain free.
Rotate the shaft slowly under load, if possible, to prop-
erly center the rolling elements with respect to the
raceways. Then tighten setscrews into the locking collar
of the remaining bearings to the recommended torque.
5. Check rotation. If there is any strain, irregular rotational
torque or vibration, it could be due to incorrect
alignment, bent shaft or bent supports. Installation
should be rechecked and correction made where
necessary.

1. If cover is to be used slip one of the rubber rings on each shaft. For selection and direction of assembly
of rubber rings. See fig. 1 and 2 on
page 2.
2. Install flanges on shaft. lock install oer instructimd
